A home fire that sees a house completely destroyed is effectively the ultimate risk in the eyes of an insurer. To have to completely rebuild a property would be their most expensive payout. As such they may look for loopholes to catch you out - so you need to ensure the cover you have is effective. Very few home insurance policies do not cover fire risk but it's worth checking the terms and conditions to see what types of fire you are protected against. For example are you covered against arson? Are you covered if you start the fire accidentally yourself, such as by dropping a candle or a cigarette? Check, check and double check.
